Program Description
The Town of Newmarket and the Newmarket Skating Club have joined to offer a Childrens Learn-to-Skate program for children ages 6-12. This Childrens Learn-to-Skate program is designed to provide instruction on basic skating skills for boys and girls in a structured group environment.
Classes are run by Newmarket Skating Club certified Canskate coaches. Each class is 50 minutes in length and focuses on skill development, fun and participation. This program is offered during the fall and winter and each session runs for 8 weeks.
CSA-approved hockey helmets must be worn. Single-blade skates are required. This is a non-parent-participation program, however a parent/guardian is required to stay in the arena while the skater is on the ice. The ratio is 1 certified coach to 8 skaters. |
