Program Description
The Town of Newmarket and the Newmarket Skating Club have joined to offer an Adult Skate learn-to-skate program, for anyone aged 18 years or older as of the end of December of the current year. The program is designed for all adults, from those who have never skated before to those who skated to the highest levels as children.
This program is co-hosted with the Town of Newmarket Parks, Recreation and Culture department and registration is done through the Town. The Adult Skate program runs for an 8-week period, with one 8-week session before Christmas, one 8-week session after Christmas, and one 8-week session in the Spring school. The Adult Skate program format is totally flexible. A professional coach is on the ice for the entire class. Group lessons are offered and adult skaters may try skating tests if they wish. Helmets are strongly recommended for new skaters. |
