Carnival 2011
"Sleeping Beauty On Ice"

The Newmarket Skating Club proudly presents an ice show at the end of every second season.  This show has earned the reputation of being a professional production with highly entertaining content.

The show, held in Arena #1 at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex, promises outstanding skating, creative original costumes that rival the Ice Capades, professional lighting, memorable music, and excellent choreography!  Held in April, there is a Saturday evening performance and a Sunday afternoon performance.  All skaters participate in both performances.

Every skater that is a member of the Club during a show year is invited to participate - whether they are 3 years old or 20 years old.  Groups are created based on the theme of the show.  Typically over 300 skaters participate.

The production budget is substantial - to produce costumes (all made from scratch), three weeks of ice rental for practices and shows, coaching fees to cover all off-ice and on-ice work, professional lighting, professional staging, music and promotion.

There is a registration fee for skaters participating which covers their costume and ice time.  Skaters gets to keep their costume after the shows.  There are three weeks of practice prior to the shows.  This practice time does not interfere with the regular skating season.  Carnival practices begin once the Winter session has finished.

Click HERE to obtain the registration form in PDF format.  Please fill out both pages.  The form must be printed.  This is not an interactive form.  Put the completed form and payment in an envelope marked "Newmarket Skating Club" and drop it at the reception desk at the Magna Centre.  The deadline for registration is to be announced.
